South Indian Chilli Prawn Fry/Prawn Stir Fry Recipe


Prawn (shell removed)                                               500 gm
Tomatoes                                                                   200 gm
Chilli Powder                                                                 2 gm
Turmeric                                                                        1 gm
Onion                                                                        100 gm
Ginger                                                                       a small piece
Garlic                                                                        8 flakes
Fennel                                                                      1 gm
Curry Leaves                                                            a few
Salt                                                                           to taste
Fat                                                                            30 gm

1. Wash Prawns and boil, add chilli powder, turmeric and salt in just enough water to cook.
2. Blanch tomatoes and slice.
3. Grind ginger and garlic into a smooth paste.
4. Chop onions. Powder fennel.
5. Heat fat. Add fennel, onions, ground ginger and garlic and curry leaves.
6. Fry till onions are slightly browned and a good aroma emanates.
7. Add the tomatoes and fry for few minutes.
8. Add prawns and fry till quite dry.
