Potato Sagu Recipe


Potato Sagu recipe is a common dish served with roti, naan, poori,chapathi and rava idly in Indian restaurants serving south Indian food. Potato sagu is prepared with potato, besan powder and spices. Recommended dish with poori tastes delicious and little spicy!! Try this authentic south Indianpotato sagu recipe and Enjoy Cooking!!!

Ingredients :

Potato                                             3 nos (big)
Onion                                              1 no big
Green chilli                                       3 nos
Garlic finely chopped                        5 flakes
Ginger paste                                     1/2 to 1 tsp
Besan powder                                  3 tsp
Turmeric powder                              1/2 tsp
Chilli powder                                    1 to 2 tsp
Mango (Aamchur powder)             1 tsp
Garam Masala                                   2 tsp
Salt                                                   to taste
Corriander leaves                             1 spring
Mustard                                           1/2 tsp
Oil                                                   2 tbsp

Procedure:

1. Boil potatoes in a pressure cooker and keep it aside.
2. Heat oil in a kadai, add mustard, fry onion, add garlic ,ginger paste, green chilli and fry for sometime.
3. Add a glass of water, besan powder, turmeric powder and boil in a  low flame until the raw smell goes.
4. Add chilli powder,aamchur powder,salt and cook for a while. Slightly mash the potatoes and add it.
5. Add garam masala and garnish with corriander leaves
6. Add more water if required to get the consistency.
7. Serve with rava idly chappati,poori.
