Green peas/mattar fry(poriyal) is a simple and easy recipe to prepare less than in 20 minutes. Adding 2 tbsp of freshly grated coconut to dish will add more taste and flavor. Fresh green peas 200 gms
Onion chopped 25 gms
Mustard seeds 1/4 tsp
Black gram 1/4 tsp
Curry leaves a few
Dry red chillies 2 nos
Salt to taste
Oil 5 ml
1. Heat required amount of water in a vessel and bringto boil. Add fresh green peas, salt and cook till peas are 95 percent done. Remove from heat and keep aside.
2. Heat oil in a kadai. Add mustard seeds, black gram and curry leaves.
3. Add chopped onion, dry red chillies when the mustard seeds starts to splutter. Fry in slow flame till raw onion smell goes.
4. Add cooked peas and continue fryin for 2 minutes in slow flame.5. Serve hot as a side dish with white rice or serve as a snack.
