Chilli Mutton/Lamb Stir Fry Recipe

Chilli Mutton/lamb is a hot and spicy fry recipe prepared with mutton(Goat meat), spices, and curd or yoghurt and stir fried in a slow fire for a long time. Chilli mutton is popular in most of the south Indian hotels and restaurants served as dry side dish. Lamb/Mutton                                                   500 gm
Onion(chopped finely)                                     2 no medium sized
Ginger Garlic paste                                           1 tsp
Cloves(powdered)                                            1/4 tsp
Turmeric powder                                               1/4 tsp
Chilli powder                                                     1 1/2 tsp
Cumin powder                                                   1/4 tsp
Red chillies without seeds                                   4 no  
Yoghurt                                                             1 tbsp
Salt                                                                   to taste
Oil                                                                    1 tbsp


1. Clean mutton and cut into small pieces. Add salt, 1/2 tsp chilli powder and mix well. Keep aside.
2. Heat oil in a thick bottomed non stick kadai. Add chopped onions and ginger garlic paste. Fry in a slow fire lightly.
3. Add powdered cloves and continue frying.
4. Add mutton, chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, red chilli and fry well in a slow fire. Cover and cook for 20 to 25 minutes.
5. Add some water and cook in a slow fire till mutton is tender.
6. Add yoghurt and cook for few minutes.
7. Serve hot with rice, phulka, roti.

Homemade Potato Fries/ French Fries Recipe

Homemade potato fries is a simple and popular starter recipe prepared with fresh potato sliced using french fries slicer, coated with a spicy flour and deep fried. Coated potato slices are refridgerated to avoid the separation of the flour while deep frying. Potato fries is served in most of the restaurants, food chains like Mcdonalds, Burger king, KFC, etc as fries or French fries. For best taste select potatoes grown in hill stations like kodaikanal, ooty which gives best and perfect colour for the fries. Potato                                   500 gm
Maida/All purpose flour         100 gm
Black pepper powder            1 tbsp
Salt                                        to taste
Oil                                         for deep frying


1. Peel potatoes and slice it using french fries cutter.
2. Soak potato slices in salted water for atleast 30 minutes.
3. Mix maida, black pepper powder and salt well.
4. Drain water and coat potato slices with the mixed spicy flour.
5. Refridgerate the coated potato slices for atleast 2 hours.
6. Heat oil in a thick bottomed kadai. Deep fry the refridgerated potato slices in a slow fire till golden brown.
7. Transfer the fried potato fries to absorbent paper to remove oil from the fries.
8. Serve hot with ketchup.

Note: Season with garam masala, chilli powder and salt mixture for more spicy.

Gulab Jamon Recipe/Gulab Jamun With Icecream

Mawa/Khoa(dried whole milk)                 200 gm
Chhena/Curd cheese                                   50 gm
Maida                                                         30 gm
Cardamom                                                   6 no
Soda bi-carbonate                                        1/4 tsp
Oil                                                        for deep frying
Sugar                                                        400 gm


1. Grate mawa and curd cheese.
2. Mix mawa, chhena, maida, soda bi-carbonate and add some water to make a soft dough. Keep aside for 10 minutes.
3. Make small balls using the dough. Dont press the dough hard while making the balls.
4. Heat 400ml of water in a thick bottomed vessel. add sugar, chopped cardamom and boil in a slow flame for 20 minutes or till the syrup comes to a sticky consistency. Remove from heat.
5. Heat oil in a thick bottomed kadai. Fry the dough balls in a slow fire till golden brown.
6. Transfer the fried balls to the sugar syrup and leave it for minimum 20 to 30 minutes. Fried balls enlarges 3 times in size from the dough ball size.
7. Serve hot or cold or topped with vanila icecream as a dessert.

Homemade Macaroni Recipe/Indian Pasta Recipe

Macaroni                              200 gms
Tomatoes(chopped)                 1 no
Onions(chopped)                     2 no(medium size)
Tomato ketchup                       2 tsp
Green chilli sauce                     3 tsp
Soy sauce                                1/2 tsp
Chilli powder                           1/2 tsp
Garam Masala Powder            1/2 tsp
White pepper powder              1/2 tsp
Curry Leaves                          a few
Coriander leaves                     1 sprig
Salt                                         to taste
Oil                                          10 ml


1. Cook macaroni in salted boiling water till it is done.Strain and keep aside. Let it cool.
2. Heat oil in a thick bottomed pan. Add chopped onions and fry in a medium fire till raw smell subsides.
3. Add ketchup, chilli sauce and soy sauce. Continue frying for 2 minutes.
4. Add chopped tomatoes, salt and fry in a slow fire till the tomatoes gets smashed well.
5. Add garam masala, curry leaves, chilli powder and continue frying till it becomes a thick sauce.
6. Take the cooked macaroni in a bowl or plate. Season with white pepper powder and pour cooked sauce over it.
7. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
